Alf Francis is remembered as an outstanding hockey player around the opposition goal who undoubtedly had the potential for a professional career. He played center for the Wheat Kings in 1948-1949, the same year the Brandon junior squad went to the Memorial Cup.
He was a member of the College Caps team that travelled to Colorado and North Dakota. On top of being a standout with the Brandon College hockey team, Francis was also the College Class President in 1950.
Alf was attending law school when he was stricken with rheumatic fever and heart disease and passed away in his late twenties.
