Peter Gerlinger’s playing career at Brandon University goes down as one of the greatest in the history of the Brandon College and Brandon University hockey programs. Gerlinger played five seasons with the Bobcats after playing with Seattle of the WHL from 1979-81.
 
Gerlinger earned All-Canadian status in 1982-83 and was twice named a Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) all-star.
 
He still holds a school record that stands today for career assists with 113.
 
Gerlinger graduated from BU with an Education degree before teaching in Erickson, Manitoba and Brandon high schools where he also coached high school hockey.
