JAYCEE CASTLE Jaycee Castle is coming off an outstanding October as a member of the women's soccer team where she served as co-captain of her hometown club and was a major scoring threat.
Â
"Jaycee is a tireless worker trying to help her team improve," said women's coach
Rainer Schira. "Jaycee is quiet, but leads by example and for a forward that means scoring. Â For a striker to do her job a lot of other things have to fall into place, winning is always a team effort. In our last three official games we scored six goals and Jaycee scored five of them."
Â
In total, Castle collected a team-leading eight goals to finish second in the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference in scoring.
Â
She helped the Bobcats finish in second-place in MCAC standings at 6-and-2 for their best-ever regular season record in just their second year in the league.
                              Â
Castle continued her stellar play at the MCAC Final Four where her Bobcats made history by winning the program's first-ever silver medal at the championship tournament.
Â
Castle scored all of the team's goal at the league finals, scoring twice in the team's 2-1 semifinal win over the CMU Blazers and netting the team's lone goal in a tight 2-1 loss against the Red River Rebels in the title game.
Â
For her effort over the course of the season, Castle was chosen as an MCAC all-star and now adds to her resume as BU's female athlete of the month for October.
