Reece Dixon has helped the Bobcats men’s volleyball team to one of the best starts in program history, and but it’s not just his quarterbacking of the offence that has contributed to the team’s success.
The setter in a roster such as the Bobcats is often overlooked, but Dixon’s play is among the best at the position in Canada West and it’s not just on offence. Dixon sits atop the conference statistics in assists per set (10.95) and is second on the team in digs.
“Reece had a very successful month orchestrating our offence. Our attackers achieved very efficient offensive numbers and Reece’s ability to keep other team’s blockers guessing was instrumental in our success,” says coach Grant Wilson.
After a nearly perfect pre-season, the Bobcats are now 10-2 in conference play, including a six match win-streak in November. The streak also includes 18 straight set wins.
Entering the December break ranked No. 2 in the nation, the Bobcats will resume with late in the month with exhibition road matches against Laval in Quebec City before resuming conference action on Jan. 4 against the No. 1 ranked Trinity Western Spartans.
