Seth Friesen reached a new level in his game in the month of March following what could have been his best season as a Bobcat.

Friesen lifted the Bobcats in front of his hometown fans to the program's first Canada West conference title on homecourt before bringing home a silver medal from the U SPORTS national championship in Quebec City.

The Brandon product was recognized for his outstanding season by being named a Canada West second team all-star and the conference's Student-Athlete Community Service Award winner. 

Friesen then took his play to another level by being earning multiple player of the match awards and being named a tournament all-star at nationals in the process.

"Seth saved some of his best performances for us down the stretch. He's always elevated his play when we needed him, but his play in the playoffs and at nationals was inspiring for us and there were times when he simply put us on his back," says coach Grant Wilson.

Friesen is in the process of completing his honours Bachelor of Science degree and is hoping to be accepted into medical school, which will determine if the 6-foot-8 outside hitter returns for his fifth and final season of eligibility next year.
