Kaiten has been coaching soccer for 10 years in the Westman area, including at the youth, high school and adult levels with both male and female athletes. Kaiten’s background includes a highlight of every team he’s coached having their record improve year-over-year. Most recently, he was a coach of the Team Westman male squad that won silver at the 2016 Manitoba Summer Games.
Kaiten is also the Manitoba Soccer Association’s first Westman-based Regional Learning Facilitator, and runs both coach and player development sessions for the provincial organization around the Brandon area in that role.
As a player, Kaiten has experience in the MCAC as a starting central defender at Providence College for three years, from 2008-10 where he helped lead the team to two MCAC titles, three NCCAA Div. II Regional titles, as well as a second-place and two fourth-place finishes at the NCCAA Div. II National Championships.
Individually, Kaiten was named a two-time Defender of the Year for the Pilots, a two-time Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the entire college, and a two-time captain.
