Brandon University offers an exciting opportunity for international students to work towards a degree while playing competitive college soccer.
There are many reasons for local and international students to play for the Bobcats:
1. Challenging play at the college and university level with no out-of-province travel
2. Outdoor soccer season with ten games in September and October
3. Indoor futsal season with ten games in January, February, and March
4. Low tuition
5. Full range of programs in Arts, Sciences, Education, Business, and pre-professional options
6. Competitive varsity team
7. Good practice facilities on campus: exceptionally large gymnasium space for soccer, grass field, and the Healthy Living Centre, which features state of the art fitness centre and an indoor running track.

Brandon University President’s International Athletes’ Awards
A limited number of these awards are given to international students at Brandon University that are recommended by both their coach and the athletic director and that move forward to be confirmed roster members for a varsity sports team. The award allows the international student to pay tuition for study at the rate for Canadian students, instead of at the rate for visa students.
To play on a varsity team, a student must take at least three courses in each term starting in both September and January, corresponding to 18 credit hours per year in the tuition tables, with one course equal to three credit hours.

Students seeking enrollment at Brandon University must meet specified standards of ability in English (
https://www.brandonu.ca/future-students/apply/international/requirements/). If a student has not yet met the required standard of English, they are eligible to play varsity soccer if they enroll to study English for Academic Purposes (EAP) at Brandon University (
https://www.brandonu.ca/eap/). However, EAP students are not eligible for the President’s International Athletes’ Award.
