Box Score WINNIPEG - The Brandon Bobcats women's basketball team were one point away from picking up their first win of the 2012-13 season, falling to the Manitoba Bisons 62-61 in overtime Friday night at the U of M.

The Bisons were strong early on, but the pesky Bobcats wouldn't go away. After trailing by as much as 15 in the first half, the Bobcats battled back in the second half, eventually leading late in the fourth quarter.

Tied at 57-57, Stephanie Haynes had a chance to ice it for the 'Cats with a last second lay-up but was denied, forcing overtime.

In the extra frame, the two teams exhcanged leads before the Bisons came away with a one-point victory.

Aimee Johnston finished with a double-double, picking up 21 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Carrera Lamoureux was two points shy of a double-double, finishing with eight points and 11 boards. Stephanie Haynes had 17 points.

The two teams will meet again Saturday night at the University of Manitoba's Investors Group Athletic Centre. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
