Heat prove too hot to handle for Bobcats

Box Score KELOWNA, B.C. – The Brandon Bobcats dropped a tough road loss to the UBC-Okanagan Heat Friday night in Kelowna by a final of 68-56.
 
The Heat took a double digit lead nine minutes into the game, and never allowed Brandon within single digits for the rest of the game. Second year guard Sarah Allison (Surrey, BC), upped her season average of 16 ppg as she poured in 19 Friday for the Heat – she was the only UBC Okanagan player with more than eight points. Fellow sophomore guard, Emily Kanester (Vernon, BC), had five rebounds, four steals and seven points for the Heat.
 
The Bobcats second year forward, Aimee Johnston (Brandon, MB) had a team high of 14 points. Third year guard, Carrear Lamoureux  (Winnipeg, MB) had a game high of 12 rebounds and contributed 10 points to her team's efforts.
 
The Heat are now 3-4 in league play and the Bobcats drop to 0-7. The Heat will battle another Prairie 'Cat on Saturday night as they try to de-claw the No. 3 University of Regina Cougars, tip-off at 5 p.m.
