'Cats lead Huskies early and often, but can't hold on

Box Score SASKATOON - The Brandon Universty Bobcats lead the #5 nationally-ranked University of Saskatchewan Huskies for most of Friday night's game, but it wasn't enough as Saskatchewan came back late for a 83-73 win.

Saskatchewan took an early lead in the opening minutes, but would not grab the lead again until late in the third quarter taking a 61-56 lead into the fourth. Brandon led 21-18 after the first and 40-38 at halftime.

Saskatchewan outscored Brandon 27-17 in the final 13 minutes of the game to secure the victory.
 
The Huskies move to 3-0 on the season, while Brandon drops to 0-3 with the loss.
 
Dalyce Emmerson led offense for the third straight game to open the season pouring in 19 points. Riley Humbert and Antoinette Miller added 12 and 11 respectively.
 
Canada West scoring leader Cassie Cooke scored 20 for the Bobcats in the loss. Stephanie Hanes scored 16 more for the Bobcats.
 
The two teams meet again Saturday night at the University of Saskatchewan PAC.
