Women's Basketball cool off the Heat

Box Score BRANDON- The BU Bobcats earned their first home win of the 2013-14 season, besting the UBCO Heat 70-63 Saturday night in Brandon.

This marks the 'Cats first victory in the HLC, as well as their first home victory since January 16th of 2010, when they defeated Lethbridge.
 
Kaela Cranston led the way for the 'Cats notching six three-pointers in a 25-point night. Cassie Cook notched 21 points and seven rebounds, with Stephanie Haynes just shy of a double-double adding 10 points and eight rebounds.
 
Shenelle Tamminen scored 18 points and grabbed four rebounds for the Heat, with both Jessica Jazdarehee and Emily Kanester notching 12 points.  
 
The win improves the Bobcats record to 3-9. The loss drops UBC-Okanagan to 2-10.
 
Up next for the Bobcats is a home series against the University of Manitoba Bisons on January 17th at the HLC. UBC-Okanagain will face Trinity Western at home in Kelowna on January 17th.
