BRANDON, Man. – The Regina Cougars shot the ball early, well, and often on the way to an 80-49 win over the host Bobcats Saturday evening at the BU Healthy Living Centre.
The Cougars out-shot and out-rebounded the Bobcats for the second straight night to improve to 4-6 on the season.
Faith Read was 4-for-7 from beyond the arc in the first half, while the Bobcats managed five threes as a team in the first two quarters.
Brandon started the third quarter on an 8-2 run to narrow the distance but Regina answered right back with a 6-2 run to start the fourth.
Regina's offense was clicking when needed most, and nearly doubled the rebound total, pulling down 48 boards to Brandon's 27.
Reid finished with a season-high 20 points to go with four steals. Jade Belmore finished with 14 points and Kaitlyn Tonita had 11 and Julia Vydrova contributed 10 points.
Brandon shot 29 percent from the floor, 29 percent from beyond the arc and 57 percent from the free-throw line.

Reetta Tulkki had a team-high 13 points for the Bobcats.
The Cougars now return home to host the Manitoba Bisons in two weeks time, with a pair of games on January 28-29.
The Bobcats will head to Saskatoon to play a set against the Saskatchewan Huskies next weekend.
