Hot shooting Bobcats cool off Heat

KELOWNA, B.C. - The Bobcats shot an impressive 60 percent from the floor, including 53 percent from beyond the arc, in Sunday's 109-95 win over the UBCO Heat.

The win marked the second time in the young conference season the Bobcats put up 109 points in a win, moving the team to 3-1 and a five-team tie for second place in the conference standings.

The Bobcats shot the ball well early and continued to ride the hot hands of Sultan Haider Bhatti and Travis Hamberger late into the game to secure the win and weekend sweep.

Haider Bhatti shot 6-for-8 from three to finish with 25 points while Hamberger shot 4-for-7 for 14 points.

Anthony Tsegakele continued his impressive start to the season, picking up yet another double-double (26 points, 13 rebounds).

Elisha Ampofo had a season-high 17 points while Khari Ojeda-Harvey had 11 points and 10 assists.

The Heat were led by Gus Goerzen's team-high 20 points but remain winless at 0-4.

The Bobcats will return home and get set for a quick turn-around as the team welcomes the Lethbridge Pronghorns for a pair of games at the HLC on Nov. 18 & 19.

Tip-off for Friday's game at the HLC is set for 8 pm.
