BRANDON - The Bobcats continued their winning ways Friday with a straight sets victory over the Winnipeg Wesmen.
Â
The score was never in doubt, as the Bobcats took control early and held on for a 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-22) victory.
Â
In the first set the Bobcats didn't hit particularly well, but didn't need to. Brandon had six blocks to Winnipeg's none, while the Wesmen had eight attack errors in the frame.
Â
The second set saw the teams share similar stat lines minus one: kills. Brandon had 17 kills to Winnipeg's 11, proving to be the difference.
Â
The Wesmen took an early lead in the third set, but it didn't last long as Brandon's outsides took over late to secure the win.
Â
Max Brook led the Bobcats with 10 kills and six digs.
Philipp Lauter converted on 50 percent of his attacks, good for eight kills on the night.
Â
Liam Kristjanson led the Wesmen with 12 kills.
Â
The win gets the Bobcats closer to the .500 mark at 5-6 while the Wesmen fall to 6-5.
Â
The two teams meet again in the rematch Saturday at the University of Winnipeg's Duckworth Centre.
Â
First serve is scheduled for 6:45 p.m.
