2024-25 Canada West basketball schedule released

BRANDON - Bobcat basketball returns to the HLC this fall with the announcement of the Canada West conference schedule Wednesday morning.

The schedule will see 11 home games and nine on the road with the home-opener slated for November 1 against the University of Winnipeg.

The conference season tips-off at the HLC against the provincial nemesis Wesmen with the women's game starting at 6 p.m. with the men to follow at 8 p.m.

All home games will start at 6 and 8 p.m. Friday and 5 and 7 p.m. Saturday.

The Bobcats will also welcome Lethbridge, Alberta, Manitoba and Mount Royal before concluding the 2024-25 regular season on Feb. 15-16 against Saskatchewan.

The BU women will look to return to the post-season while the Bobcat men look to improve on last season's quarterfinal loss to the eventual conference champion Victoria Vikes.

A new playoff format will see single elimination play-in games the weekend of Feb. 21-23 before semi-final single elimination games Feb. 28 – March 1.

The Canada West championship will be awarded the weekend of March 7-8 before the UBC Thunderbirds host both the men's and women's U Sports National Championship the weekend of March 13-16.

Tickets for both individual games and all regular season home games will go on sale in August.

Like always, fans will have option to follow all the action. Thanks to our partners with Westman Communications Group, all games will be broadcast live on WCGtv and livestreamed on the web at CanadaWest.tv.
