Brandon, MB – The Brandon Bobcats Women's Rugby team put on a spectacular performance on Saturday, October 4th, at the John Reilly Field, dismantling the University of Saskatchewan Huskies (U of S) with a dominant 83-17 victory. The resounding win keeps the Bobcats' position atop the Prairie University Women's Rugby Championship (PUWRC) standings with just one regular season game remaining.
From the opening whistle, the Bobcats controlled the tempo, overwhelming the Huskies' defense. Brandon built an unassailable lead by the half, with the scoreboard reading 47-5.
The Bobcats' attack was relentless, powered by a full team effort. Raegan Ricard led with 4 tries, Brooke Miner had 3, Kypling Black and Beth Couling each had 2 while Ava Page and Amanda Mielke had 1 each. Megan Thompson was exceptional with the boot, successfully slotting an impressive 9 converts on the day, adding 18 crucial points to the team's total. Breanna Sakal was named the Home Team's "Player of the Match" for her standout performance.
With this win, the Bobcats now sit in first place in the PUWRC standings, a major milestone as they head into the final stretch of the season.

The Bobcats will face their toughest test yet as they prepare to travel to Regina for their final regular season match. Following that pivotal game, the team will return home to host the PUWRC Championships right here in Brandon the weekend of October 24th, where they look to lift the championship trophy on their home turf.
