Exercise Science and Fitness Stream

This stream is designed for students who want to pursue careers in the field of Exercise Science and allied disciplines such as:   Kinesiology, Athletic Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Personal Training and Fitness Leadership.  For specific information on preparation for Personal Trainer Certification through the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology (CSEP-CPT) consult with the Department Chair. 

The following course pathway is recommended:

1.   A student must complete a minimum of 99 credit hours of course work with a minimum degree grade point average of 2.0.
2.   A student must complete the Liberal Education (Humanities, Social Sciences and Natural Sciences) requirement as listed on page Error! Bookmark not defined..
3.   A student must complete a minimum of 42 credit hours in Physical Education as follows:

5.      A Student must complete a Minor from one of the departments in the Faculty of Arts or Science.  Recommended:  Biology or Psychology
6.      A student must complete a minimum of 18 credit hours from the Faculties of Arts and Science numbered at the 200 level or above. (This requirement may be partially or in some cases completely met by courses taken in the Minor described above.) Recommended:  Additional courses from Psychology, Biology and Sociology.
