AMY KINGDON After joining the Bobcats women’s soccer team by earning a spot on the team through try-outs, Amy Kingdon has proven to be one of the most important pieces of the Bobcats roster.
Playing in her first season, the product of Minnedosa has started every game so far this season, and only one teammate has played more minutes than her.
Her defensive ability is a big part of the offensive attack, as her play in the midfield and defensive end sets up the potent Bobcat transition game.
“Amy’s impact was immediate from her first practice with the team. She brings a confident leadership and is a great on-field communicator. Amy reads the game extremely well, and has excellent ball control,” says Bobcats coach Rainer Schira.
“Those two skills combined make her a force that unsettles her opponents while giving confidence to those who play around her. She has a strong desire to give everything she has to the team, and plays willingly and with all possible skill in any position we play her in. We are extremely happy that she chose to play with us this season,” Schira adds.
Kingdon is currently in Brandon University’s Pre-Nurisng program and is also a certified Primary Care Paramedic who works casually for Prairie Mountain Health.
