Keisha Cox concluded her first season as a Bobcat by performing as one of the best players in the conference.
The product of Oceanside, Calif. came through in the clutch and finished in the conference’s top-five in four different stat categories. Cox was fifth in points-per game (17.1), fourth in total points (343), fifth in steals (47), second in three-point percentage (.346) and fifth in free throws (74).
“Keisha has been the picture of consistency the entire second semester, and got stronger as the season wore on,” says coach Novell Thomas. “As Keisha got more accustomed to our conference and the style of play, it became clear that she’s got a strong future in our league. It’s really exciting for the future. She’s a big part of our offense and the offensive production. She has high expectations of herself and her team mates, and we look forward to what she’ll bring to the program down the road.”
Aside from the aforementioned stats, Cox played a key role in the Bobcats’ 7-13 record, which is the most wins for the BU women’s basketball team since 1984.
