Keisha Cox is the top female athlete on campus for the second time this season after getting the nod in November. As a result, she becomes the first Bobcat to win the Smitty's Sportsline Lounge Athlete of the Month twice in one season.
 
The Oceanside, Calif. product played a major role in the Bobcats breaking new ground as BU reached the Canada West playoffs for the first time since entering the conference in 1999.
 
Cox started February by scoring 17 points in a historic 83-73 home court win over the Manitoba Bisons to officially clinch their spot and secure a post-season date against the Trinity Western Spartans.
 
The Bobcats started the series with a 56-48 victory behind a game-high 15 points from Cox, but BU was not able to close out the best-of-three set and their storybook season came to an end.
 
"Keisha was stellar for us this season and throughout the month of February," said women's basketball coach Novell Thomas. "She was our top performer in the playoffs and stepped up when we needed her the most."
 
Canada West recognized Cox's contributions to Brandon's history-making season by selecting her to the second all-star team. She finished third in the conference in points per-game and placed second in steals per-game.
