Nikala Majewski ended the month with an emphatic exclamation point to cement her status as the top female athlete. She scored a career-high 22 kills in BU's massive four-set road win over the top-ranked team in Canada, the UBC Thunderbirds last Saturday.

"Nikala has expanded her game and is a true scoring force each and every night.  She loves the big challenge and has had a terrific season to date," said interim women's volleyball coach Kevin Neufeld

January was jam-packed with tough opponents and Majewski rose to the occasion. She averaged 14 kills per-match with Brandon playing the top three ranked teams in the nation.

Majewski's first-ever female athlete of the month award is a reflection of her solid play overall this season. She sits fifth in the conference and seventh in the country with 3.58 kills per-set. Majewski also sits fifth in Canada West and U SPORTS in total points at 4.2 per-set.
