Lauren Anderson closed the book on her Bobcat career by consistently demonstrating leadership and hard-work in the month of January. The fifth-year forward led the Bobcats in almost every major statistical category in rounding out the season as the team’s leader in minutes, scoring, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks.
Â
Anderson also registered career highs in points (26) and rebounds (14, twice) in the final month of the season to cement herself as one of the all-time leaders in Bobcat women’s basketball history.
Â
“Lauren played with a real sense of urgency in the second semester,” says coach Novell Thomas.Â
Â
“Her commitment to do whatever was needed, whether it be score, rebound, pass, deflections, interceptions, block shots, she did all those things extremely well in the second half of the season,
Â
“The mindset that you often see from your seniors in their final games was exactly what we saw from Lauren. We always strive for our athletes to be the best they can be when they step on the court and she did exactly that.”
