Great first half from Bobcats not enough against Pandas

Box Score BRANDON – The Alberta Pandas completed the weekend sweep of the Brandon Bobcats, but the 'Cats put up a fight in the 66-51 loss.
 
Brandon led 32-21 late in the first half, but Alberta hit a late buzzer-beater tip-in to bring the Pandas within nine going into halftime.
 
The Pandas came storming out of the gates to start the second half. The third quarter was a physical frame in which Alberta outscored Brandon 25-8.
 
In the end four Pandas finished in double-digit scoring, as Megan Van de Kraats and Kendra Asleson both contributed 13 points, while Jessilyn Fairbanks put up 11 points and Sally Hillier contributed 10 points.
 
Three Bobcats finished in double-digit points, led by Cassie Cooke's game-high 15 points. Kaela Cranston put up 11 points while Aleah Bridges added 10.
 
The win improves Alberta's record to 4-2, while the Bobcats remain winless at 0-6. Up next for the Bobcats is a weekend road-trip against UNBC and Mount Royal, while Alberta will play in a weekend home-stand against Trinity Western and Fraser Valley.
