Box Score BRANDON – The Bobcats women's basketball team made it two in a row with a 70-51 win over the visiting Manitoba Bisons Friday night.

The 19-point margin of victory is the largest for the Bobcats women's basketball team since joining the Canada West conference.

Cassie Cooke increased her lead in the CIS scoring race, finishing the contest with a game-high 34 points. This marks the seventh time this season Cooke has scored 30-plus points in a Canada West conference game.

Cooke finished the contest with eight assists and seven rebounds, while the Bisons were led by Alison Balasko who put up a double-double (16 points, 11 rebounds). Â Vanessa Devries was just shy of a double-double, contributing eight points and 11 rebounds.

The win improves Brandon's record to 4-9, which ties the most wins by Brandon in a season since 2003-04 when the 'Cats went 4-16 in conference play. Manitoba falls to 3-10.

The two teams will meet again Saturday night in Brandon to conclude the weekend series. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 pm.
