Bobcats struggle to shut-down Bison offence

The Manitoba Bison men's basketball team had their best offensive performance of the season, beating the Brandon Bobcats 102-67, on Saturday at the Investors Group Athletic Centre in WInnipeg, Manitoba.

The Bison backcourt did most of the damage throughout the night. Aj Basi led the way with nineteen points. Andre Arruda, Justus Alleyn and Stephan Walton had eighteen, sixteen and twelve points respectively. Wyatt Anders also contributed with ten points and fourteen rebounds.

For Brandon, DJ Jordan had fifteen points and Ali-Mounir Benabdelhak had thirteen. No other player on the Bobcats scored more than nine points.

Manitoba jumped out to a 24-14 lead after one quarter, and continued to score at will in the second. The Bison scored thirty-two, and led 58-32 at the half. By then, the game was out of reach.

Manitoba's dominance continued into the third. The Bison outscored the Bobcats 28-23 in the quarter, and led 86-65 going into the fourth. Much of the same occurred in the final quarter. Manitoba's offensive production slowed down, but they still outscored Brandon 16-12. Manitoba scored over one hundred points for the first time this season.

The Bison shot 48.2% from the court in the game, and drained ten three point shots. Brandon on the other hand struggled. The Bobcats only shot 32.9% on the night, and were a measly three of twenty from beyond the arc.

The Bison improve to 5-1 while Brandon drops to 0-6.

Manitoba will go on the road, and play the Calgary Dinos next weekend on November 21st at 9pm and 22nd at 8pm. Brandon will defend their home court and play Trinity Western University. Tipoff is scheduled for 8pm on November 21st, and 7pm on November 22nd.
