Bobcats upset Dinos in game 1 of Wesmen Classic

The Brandon University Bobcats opened up the Coca Cola University Men's Classic with a thrilling 96-91 victory over the University of Calgary Dinos.

Fifth year guard Kenonte Ramsey led Brandon with 25 points, including five-three pointers. Earl Thompson Jr had a double-double consisting of 18 points and 13 rebounds.

Second year guard Jhony Verrone and fifth year forward Philip Barndt each scored 21 points to lead the Dinos. Brandon relied on strong three point shooting draining 12 three pointers during the game.

Brandon went into the halftime break with a slim 46-45 lead and was able to hold off Calgary in the second half matching them basket for basket in the final moments.

Brandon will face Alberta in one semi final Monday night at 8:00 p.m. Calgary will face Lakehead in the consolation semi final Monday at 12:00 p.m.
