KELOWNA, B.C. - The UBC-Okanagan Heat used a high scoring weekend to sweep the Brandon Bobcats with a 92-72 win on Sunday.
With 181 points over two games, it was UBCO's highest-ever scoring weekend. On Sunday, Kelowna's Jaeli Ibbetson led all scorers with 22 points at the Furnace.
Sofia Ainsa Lluch, of Mahon, Spain, whose 29 points last night led to consistent double-coverage tonight, converted her game from scorer to play maker tying a Heat record with nine assists. She also chipped in 13 points and seven rebounds.
UBCO also set program records in field goals made and attempted shooting 34-of-88 from the floor.
TOP PERFORMERS
Jaeli Ibbetson - UBCO
The third-year guard led her team with 22 points adding 13 rebounds for her second double-double of the season. One of only two Heat athletes to average a double-double over the course of a season, Ibbetson recorded 19.5 points and 13.5 rebounds per game this weekend.
Reetta Tulkki - Brandon
The import guard from Tampere, Finland had a team-best 12 points, making a pair of three pointers with two rebounds and two assists.
The Heat's sweep pulls the to .500 on the year, sitting at 2-2, while the Bobcats remain without a win at 0-4.
The Bobcats return home and get set for another tough test in the Lethbridge Pronghorns. The 'Cats host the 'Horns in a weekend series at the HLC with games coming on Nov. 18 & 19.
