Haenni's hot shooting helps 'Horns to sweep

BRANDON, Man. – Reigning Canada West all-star Jessica Haenni continued her impressive play Saturday as the fifth-year guard led the Lethbridge Pronghorns to an 84-45 win over the Brandon Bobcats.

Haenni was red-hot in the first quarter, putting up 17 points on 7-for-9 shooting, including 3-for-4 from beyond the arc. Haenni didn't do much in the second half, but didn't need to, as she finished with 32 points on the night to go with five assists and three steals.

The Bobcats managed to protect the ball a lot better from the night prior, the problem however was the Pronghorns did too. Brandon had 21 turnovers but Lethbridge limited their turnovers to just 11.

Haily Weaver finished in double figures for the second straight night with 13 points while Piper Dobbelsteyn wasn't far behind with 11 points.

First-year forward Abby Graves finished with a game-high 12 rebounds while Kyra Collier pulled down 10 boards.

The Bobcats were led by Piper Ingalls on offence, as the second-year guard had a team-high 13 points. Faith Clearsky earned the team's player of the game honours after finishing with 10 points.

The win gets the Pronghorns back to the .500 mark at 3-3 while the Bobcats remain winless at 0-6.

Up next for Lethbridge will be a pair of home games next against the Thompson Rivers WolfPack next weekend while the Bobcats head to Saskatoon to play the Saskatchewan Huskies.
