The Bobcats made it a clean sweep of the Mount Royal Cougars with a 94-84 win Saturday night.
The first quarter saw promise for MRU, down at the five minute mark but pulling a seven point lead after 10. They were able to keep it close for the remainder of the first half but a tough third quarter set them back.Â
In the first five minutes of the second half, Brandon put up 14 points over MRU and boasted a 15 point lead. By the end of the third they were up 14.Â
Anthony Tsegakele was a powerhouse for the Bobcats, throwing down 22 points and seven rebounds.Â
Jahmaal Gardner also had impressive numbers with 18 points, seven assists and five rebounds despite having to step out of the game temporarily with a hand injury.Â
MRU outscored the Bobcats 32-28 in the fourth quarter but couldn't regain what they had lost.Â
BU improves to 10-8 while Mount Royal falls to 8-10 going into the final weekend of regular season play.Â
Holt Tomie put forward a career best effort 37 points and nine rebounds, but this wasn't enough to overcome the visitors. Keivonte Wattts was second on the roster with 16 points.Â
The Bobcats wrap up the conference schedule next weekend at home against the UNBC Timberwolves.
