BRANDON, MB - The upstart Brandon Bobcats made quick work of the #4 ranked Manitoba Bisons Friday night in Brandon, winning in straight sets 3-0 (25-23, 25-17, 25-18). The two teams exchanged blows in the first set before the Bobcats came away with a close first set win.
After the first the Bobcats ran away with it thanks to an efficient offense and good blocking.
Meaghan Robertson led the Bobcats with 11 kills on 16 swings. Robertson picked up four blocks as well. Rookie libero
Kendra Bommersbach had a break-out performance, notching a match-high 18 digs.
Kellie Baker had a match-high 34 assists.
Rachel Cockrell had a match-high 14 kills in a losing effort for the Bisons. Nicole Hall had 14 digs while Crystal Mulder finished with 12.
The two teams will meet again Saturday in the second-half of the weekend series in Brandon. First serve is scheduled for 5:00 pm.
