Women's volleyball team win streak ends

BRANDON, MB - The #4 Manitoba Bisons earned the weekend series split against the host Brandon Bobcats Saturday night 3-1 (25-21, 21-25, 25-19, 28-26) at BU's Healthy Living Centre. The Bobcats mounted a late surge, forcing the fourth and deciding set to extra points, but the Bisons were able to hold off the surging 'Cats and come away with the victory.
Rachel Cockrell nearly doubled her offensive performance from Friday night. After finishing Friday with 14 kills, the second-year outside hitter finished with 25 kills Saturday. Christina Souza finished with a match-high 44 assists.
Tori Dakin led the charge for the Bobcats, finishing with a double-double (18 kills, 10 digs). Chloe Reimer also finished with a double-double (10 kills, 12 digs).
Up next for the Bobcats is a weekend series against the Mount Royal Cougars in Calgary. Manitoba will travel to Kelowna next weekend to take on the UBCO Heat.
