Box Score CALGARY - Even though Mount Royal University is just a few games into their first season in the Canada West conference, the Cougars are making quite a name for themselves. Entering Thursday's game against the Brandon Bobcats the Cougars were 4-2 with wins over Calgary, Winnipeg, and UBC-Okanagan.
The Cougars continued to impress with a 3-1 (25-19, 25-20, 26-28, 25-15) win over the Bobcats Thursday night in Calgary.
Brandon was led by Tori Dakin and
Shanlee McLennan, who each finished with 11 kills. McLennan also picked up 15 digs.
Three Cougars finished in double-digit kills, as Carolyn O'Dwyer finished with a match-high 16 kills, while Julia Pasieka and Olivia Grecu each picked up 14.
The win improves the Cougars record to 5-2, while the Bobcats fall to 4-3 on the season. The two teams will meet again for the second half of the weekend series in Calgary on Friday.
