Bobcats women's volleyball team battles back but falls short

Box Score

BRANDON - The host Brandon Bobcats welcomed the Calgary Dinos to the BU's Healthy Living Centre Friday night, and the two teams exchanged leads before the Dinos came away with a 3-2 (25-16, 25-18, 23-25, 18-25, 19-17) win.

It appeared early on that the Dinos would make quick work of the Bobcats taking the first two sets in convincing fashion. The third set started in a similar fashion, but the Bobcats roared back thanks to an 8-3run to end the third.

The fourth was all Bobcats, and the fifth was a slugfest as the two teams went to match point four times before the Dinos came away with the 19-17 fifth set.

Four DInos finished in double-digit kills, led by Andrea Price who finished with 21 kills on 41 attempts (.415 hitting percentage) and 11 digs. Courtney Dawson and Sarah Moncks each finished with 16 kills while Lindsey Dowland recorded 13 kills. Doland also picked up a match-high 17 digs.
