Men's volleyball team makes it six in a row

Box Score BRANDON - The Brandon Bobcats made quick work of the Winnipeg Wesmen on Thursday in Brandon, taking the straight-sets match 3-0 (25-22, 29-27, 25-19). The two teams exchanged leads early in the first before the Bobcats ended it on a 5-2 run. The second set was much the same, but it took the 'Cats five set-points to wrap it up. The third set was all Brandon, highlighted by a 13-3 run that sealed the deal.
 
Brandon was led by Sam Tuivai's 14 kills on 25 swings. Middles Dan Boutwell and Brendan each picked up five blocks for Brandon, highlighted by Boutwell's three stuff blocks.
 
Two Wesmen finished in double-digit kills, led by Thomas Douglas-Powell who finished with 13 kills. First-year Casey Schouten picked up 11 kills, while Josh McKay finished with a match-high 38 assists.
 
The schools meet in the second half of the series on Saturday night in Winnipeg.
