Lady 'Cats volleyball start second-half of season with loss

Box Score LANGLEY, BC – The Brandon Bobcats women's volleyball team faced a tough Trinity Western Spartans team Thursday night, and the host No. 4 Spartans came away with a 3-1 (25-17, 21-25, 25-15, 25-18) win at the Langley Events Centre.

After Brandon (5-8) used a late run to nab the second set and tie the match 1-1, the Spartans (11-2) turned their game up a few more notches and the result was a pair of team-oriented dominant third and fourth set wins that improved TWU's home record to 6-0.

For the Bobcats, Shanlee McLennan had a match-high 15 kills to go with 10 digs, while Victoria Dakin and Chloe Reimer had seven kills each. Rookie libero Kendra Bommersbach had a team-high 12 digs while setter Kellie Baker had 32 assists.

The two teams will meet in a rematch Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at the Langley Events Centre.
