Box Score LANGLEY, BC – The Brandon Bobcats women's volleyball team stormed out of the gates of the Langley Events Centre Saturday afternoon before falling in a hard-fought match to the host Trinity Western Spartans 3-1 (25-19, 24-26, 23-25, 20-25).
The Bobcats took the first set handedly, but the home team answered right back, starting the second set on a 12-2 run before taking it.
The third and fourth sets saw numerous tie scores and lead changes, but Trinity seemed to capatilize on home-court when it mattered.
For the Bobcats,
Victoria Dakin led the way offensively with 13 kills to go with three aces and seven digs.
Shanlee McLennan added 11 kills and 10 digs. Fourth-year setter
Kellie Baker put up 37 assists.
The Spartans were led by Amber Brown, who had 13 kills and a match-high 13 digs, while first set substitute Carly Hamilton (came off the bench to add 12 kills and eight digs.
The Bobcats return to Brandon next weekend for a series against Alberta Jan. 18-19.
