Box Score SASKATOON - The Brandon Bobcats women's volleyball team completed the weekend series sweep of the Saskatchewan with a 3-1 (25-21, 25-16, 23-25, 25-21) win Saturday night.
The Bobcats were led by Tori Dakin, who finished the contest with a double-double (14 kills, 12 digs) while
Shanlee McLennan finished one dig shy of a double-double (13 kills, nine digs). Middles Meghan Robertson and
Alexis Loewen each put up nine kills, while Loewen also had six total blocks and Robertson finished with five.
Kellie Baker ran the offense effectively, finishing with a match-high 44 assists and also picked up four aces.
The Huskies were led by Candace Heuser's13 kills. Anne Hanbridge had a match-high 18 digs for Saskatchewan.
The win improves Brandon's record to 8-10, while Saskatchewan falls to 3-15 on the season.
The weekend ahead brings a tough test for the Bobcats, as they will welcome the #1 UBC Thunderbirds with a playoff spot for the Bobcats hanging in the balance. It will also be the final regular season home game for the 'Cats of the 2012-13 season. The Huskies will play in a weekend home-and-home series against provincial rivals the Regina Cougars.
