Women's volleyball team dismantles Mount Royal

Box Score BRANDON – The Brandon Bobcats extended their winning streak to three matches and completed the weekend sweep of the Mount Royal Cougars with a 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-19) win Friday night.
 
The win also keeps the Bobcats record at home perfect at 6-0, and move to 8-2 on the season. The Cougars fall to 3-7 and remain winless on the road.
 
Fourth-year Victoria Dakin led the way for Brandon, notching a double-double on 11 kills and 10 digs to go along with four blocks. Shanlee McLennan wasn't far behind with 10 kills and seven digs. For the second straight night second-year setter Mary Thomson led both teams in assists, finishing with 38 on the night in just her second career start at home.
 
Carolyn O'Dwyer had a team-high seven kills and 14 digs for the Cougars while Julia Pasieka had six kills. The Cougars mounted only four total blocks on the night, whereas three Bobcats finished with at least four blocks.
 
The Cougars will look to bounce back next weekend as they host the last place Thompson Rivers WolfPack, while the Bobcats will welcome the Saskatchewan Huskies to close out the first half of the season.
