Box Score BRANDON – The Brandon Bobcats welcomed the Saskatchewan Huskies, and it was the Huskies who came away with a hard-fought 3-2 (21-25, 27-25, 17-25, 25-10, 15-12) victory Friday night.

The Huskies quickly took charge of the first set, taking four consecutive points to lead the Bobcats 5-1 early in the first set. The Bobcats responded with a four-point run of their own and continued to fight through the set, eventually besting the Huskies 25-21.Â

The Huskies forced extra points in the second set, eventually taking the set 27-25. The third set was all Bobcats taking it 25-17, but Saskatchewan commanded the fourth set 25-10. Both teams traded points in the fifth set, with the Huskies outlasting the Bobcats 15-12.

Sam Tuivai put up a double-double for the 'Cats with 17 kills and 13 digs, while
Roy Ching added 12 kills and three blocks.

Paul Thomson notched 18Â kills and 15Â digs for the Huskies. Bryan Fraser chipped in with 15 kills and 13 digs, while Braden McLean added 12 kills and seven blocks.Â

The two teams face off again tomorrow at 6:45 in Brandon. Â
