Women's volleyball team keeps perfect home record alive

Box Score BRANDON – The #6 Bobcats women's volleyball team kept their perfect home record intact Friday night with a 3-1 (25-21, 25-22, 21-25, 25-22) win over the #4 UBC-Okanagan Heat.
 
Four Bobcats finished in double-digit kills, led by Shanlee McLennan's match-high 14 kills who also put up 13 digs. Freshman left-side Vaovai Aiono put up 13 kills to go along with three aces, while Victoria Dakin added 12 kills and six digs, and Meaghan Robertson put up 11 kills on .348 hitting percentage. Fifth-year setter Kellie Baker was particularly efficient, finishing with 44 assists.
 
The Heat were led by Kaitlynn Given's double-double (13 kills, 11 digs), while Katy Klomps added nine kills. Emily Oxland 13 digs and Lenai Schmidt contributed  11 digs.
 
The win improves the Bobcats record to 4-1, which equals the Heat's season record. The two teams will meet again Saturday night in Brandon.
