Box Score BRANDON – The Bobcats men's volleyball team may have overlooked UBC-Okanagan, as the Heat gave Brandon quite a scare Friday night. The Bobcats narrowly avoided an early 2-1 deficit thanks to a 34-32 third set, then went on to take the fourth handily and the match 3-1 (25-19, 19-25, 34-32, 25-18).

Facing set point in the third at 24-22, the 'Cats clawed their way back, forcing a set point of their own at 25-24. UBCO rattled off two straight points creating yet another set point before the Bobcats followed suit and did the exact same thing. The two teams exchanged singles until Brandon ended the marathon set.

Dan Boutwell was lights out for the Bobcats, notching 13 kills and a .450 hitting percentage to go along with six blocks.
Sam Tuivai added 15 kills, while
Roy Ching added nine kills and nine digs.

Three members of the Heat finished in double-digit kills, led by Nate Speier's match-high 18 kills. Lars Bornemann added 12 kills while Kyle Pankratz put up 11 kills. Kristof Schlagintweit finished with a match-high 51 assists to go along with nine digs.

The win improves Brandon's record to 3-2, while UBC-Okanagan falls to 1-4. The two teams will meet again Saturday night in Brandon to close out the weekend series.
