BRANDON - The Brandon University Bobcats lost their first regular season game 74-62 to the visiting University of Lethbridge Pronghorns.
Both teams were evenly matched throughout the first quarter with the 'Cats entering the second quarter down by only one point.
The Bobcats couldn't maintain their intensity, allowing the 'Horns to go on a 12-0 run to open the second half.
Kaela Cranston led the Bobcats with 15 points and
Mikaela Stanton chipped in 13.
Aleah Bridges had a game- high six assists.
The Pronghorns had four players in double digit scoring, three of those picking up double- doubles.
Kim Veldman netted 19 points and pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds. Mariah Miller added 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Kaitlin Bracko notched 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Allexia Barros added 19 points for the 'Horns.
Brandon begins the season with a 0-1 record, while Lethbridge sits at 1-0.
Both teams will face off again on Saturday night at the HLC in Brandon.
