The game was a reversed script from the night before, as the Bobcats built a two sets to none lead before the Griffins fought back, push the match the distance.
Â
The Bobcats opened up an early lead in the first set registering six blocks as a team, led by
Jodie Baker with two solo blocks and a block assist. A strong service game allowed the Griffins to claw their way back, before dropping the opening set 25-22.
Â
In the second set the Bobcats picked up their service game, forcing the Griffins out of their comfort zone taking the second set 25-22. The Griffins began to solve the Bobcats block, as many of their kills were off the hands of Bobcat blockers and out of bounds.
Â
The Griffins establish their own blocking game in the third set sprinting out to an 8-4 lead. Cassidy Kinsella paced the Griffins with four kills who held on for the 25-23 win.
Â
Attempting to force another five set match, the Griffins jumped out to a 9-3 lead and kept rolling, winning 25-18.
Â
In the deciding set, the Bobcats found their grove, opening up a 4-1 lead, but the Griffins showed their resiliency, battling back courtesy of the tough serving Megan Ewasuk. In the end the Bobcats proved to be too much as they took the fifth set 15-13 and the match 3-2.
Â
Cassidy Kinsella posted 12 kills and was named player of the game for the Griffins, while
Mary Thomson connected for 54 assists, six digs and three kills earning the awarded for the Bobcats.
Â
