Men's volleyball team comes within two points of sweep of Spartans

Box Score BRANDON – After upsetting the #1 Trinity Western Spartans Friday, the #9 Brandon University Bobcats came within two points of a weekend sweep, losing Saturday night 3-2 (18-25, 25-19, 25-21, 19-25, 15-13).
 
Sebastien Steigmeier led the 'Cats with a match-high 25 kills, 15 digs, two blocks, and a service ace.
 
Sam Tuivai added 17 kills, 11 digs, two blocks, and a service ace, while Dan Boutwell had a 12 kills on just 14 attempts, playing in his final home match as a Bobcat.
 
Ryan Sclater led the Spartans with 16 kills, six digs, and three blocks.  Brad Kufske notched 13 kills, five digs, three blocks, and two service aces.
 
The win improves the Spartans record to 18-2, while the Bobcats fall to 9-11.
 
The Bobcats will travel to Calgary to play the Dinos on February 7 to close out the regular season, while Trinity will host the Winnipeg Wesmen on the same night.
