BRANDON, Man. – The Manitoba Bisons finally made it to Brandon after two delayed games, but the result went in the Herd's favour Saturday night, taking it 84-70.
After not being able to compete the week before due to Covid, then unable to make it to Brandon due to travel issues, the delayed game started with a furious pace.
Jahmaal Gardner hit three of his first four attempts from downtown, but lockdown defence from the Bisons in the second held the Bobcats to just one point for a six-minute stretch.
The Bisons held on from there, improving to 7-8 in conference play.
Gardner led the Bobcats with 27 points, while Manitoba's James Wagner also finished with 27.
Gardner shot 6-for-10 from beyond the arc while the rest of the Bobcats combined to shoot 3-for-18 from downtown.
Anthony Tsegakele put up yet another double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds while
Sultan Haider Bhatti also finished in double figures with 11 points and 10 boards.
The Bisons Mason Kraus finished with 19 points while Keiran Zziwa had 12 points and eight rebounds.
The two teams meet again in a rare Sunday afternoon contest.
Tip-off at the HLC is scheduled for 2 p.m.
