Pandas strong defence holds off Bobcats

EDMONTON - Emma Kary's 28 points, along with a defence that allowed the visitor to shoot just 25%, powered the Alberta Pandas to a 75-47 win over the Brandon Bobcats on Saturday night at Saville Community Sports Centre.

After a slow start, Kary finished the night shooting 10/22, including making six of her 10 shots from beyond the arc. The fifth-year Pandas guard also added eight rebounds and three assists, as Alberta improved to 13-3 in conference play. Rookie Panda Reece Hall also contributed a career-high 15 rebounds, to go along with 13 points and nine rebounds from Claire Signatovich.

Faith Clearsky led the Bobcats with 14 points, thanks to a perfect 9/9 night from the charity stripe. Team captain Chelsea Misskey also added eight points and two assists.
