Box Score Bobcats Defense Stands Tall in Dominant Shutout Victory Over CMU
The Brandon University Bobcats women's soccer team continued their undefeated run with a commanding 6-0 victory over the Canadian Mennonite University Blazers on Sunday, September 21st, at the HLC field. The Bobcats' offense was in top form, but it was their suffocating defense that stole the show, holding the Blazers to just two shots on goal the entire game, neither of which were credible scoring chances.
The Bobcats' attack wasted no time asserting its dominance, with goals coming early and often. Deborah Meron opened the scoring just five minutes into the match, and Laure Dizengremel followed with a goal of her own, assisted by Kenadie Janzen. Keashae Masters was a force, scoring twice, and Brogan Henry also contributed two goals. Assists were also provided by Deborah Meron and Jorja Hoad, highlighting the team's collaborative offensive effort.
While the offense was clinical, the defense was nearly impenetrable. Goaltender Josie Black earned the shutout, but it was a testament to the entire defensive unit that worked tirelessly to deny CMU any meaningful opportunities. Their disciplined play ensured a clean sheet and showcased the team's commitment to playing a complete game on both ends of the field.
With the win, the women's team improves their perfect record to 5-0 on the season. They will now hit the road for a pair of tough matchups, traveling to Saint Boniface on Saturday and Providence on Sunday. The Bobcats will return home to the HLC field the weekend of October 4th and 5th.
