Big goals, big moments and big-time performances —
Matheus Ruffini and
Abby-Jo Wark stepped up when their Bobcat soccer teams needed them most.

Fifth-year co-captain
Matheus Ruffini scored twice against the Assiniboine Cougars to help BU secure its much-needed first win of the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference men's soccer season.
The veteran Bobcat is no stranger to recognition, earning MCAC men's soccer all-star honours in both 2024 and 2025.
Ruffini was also named Athlete of the Month in September 2024 after scoring three goals in five starts. His return from an early-season injury helped turn the Bobcats' season around.
Now in his fifth year with the program, Ruffini continues to provide leadership and timely production as one of the Bobcats' core leaders.
Meanwhile, Wark delivered a standout September for the Bobcats, making her mark as both a scorer and playmaker.
She set up two goals in BU's 3-0 shutout win over the CMU Blazers before finding the back of the net twice in a mid-week victory over the Assiniboine Cougars.
"Abby-Jo has demonstrated significant improvement throughout the month and continues to grow in confidence and consistency," said women's soccer head coach
Diego Rodriguez Sr. "Her recent performances reflect the work she has been putting into her development and her ability to contribute when the team needs her."
The third-year Bobcat is no stranger to delivering in big moments. Abby-Jo was among the goal scorers in last year's championship game as BU secured its third straight league title.
Before joining the Bobcats, she was a provincial high school all-star with the Minnedosa Chancellors.
