Men's basketballt team beats the Bisons on the road

Box Score WINNIPEG - The Brandon Bobcats picked up their first regular season win of 2012-13 on the road against the University of Manitoba Bisons 78-76 at the Investors Group Athletic Centre.

All five Bobcat starters finished in double-digit scoring, led by James Elias' 18 points, which included shooting five for six from beyond the arc. Fellow fourth-year Jordan Reaves picked up 17 points and six rebounds. Ilarion Bonhomme finished with 14 points and eight assists while Kenonte Ramsey had 13 points and Ali-Mounir Benabdelhak had 10.

With the loss, the Bisons drop to 1-2 on the season, while the Bobcats capture their first win of conference play and sit at 1-2.

Manitoba guard Stephen Walton scored 20 points for the home side, almost notching a double-double with nine assists. Jonar Huertas added a downtown threat, hitting 4-6 from three and adding 17 points.

The Bisons hope to split the two-game series with Brandon on Saturdaywhen they play again at 8 p.m.
