Men's volleyball team gets huge home win

BRANDON, MB - After battling in a five-set thriller Friday, the Brandon Bobcats and Manitoba Bisons match Saturday was a similar showing. The difference this time was that the Bobcats were the eventual winner after clawing their way back to a five set 3-2 (23-25, 25-22, 19-25, 25-21, 15-12) victory Saturday night in Brandon.
Sam Tuivai was dynamite for the Bobcats, putting up 27 kills and 11 digs. Fifth-year libero Scott Neufeld finished with a team-high 18 digs, while Garrett Popplestone had a match-high 55 assists.
Three Bisons finished in double-digit kills, led by Chris Voth's 15 assists. Dane Pischke finished with a double-double, picking up 13 kills and 13 digs. Evan Jackson recorded 12 kills. Derek Nieroda had a match-high 23 digs.
Up next for the Bobcats is a weekend road series against the Mount Royal Cougars in Calgary. The Bisons will travel to Kelowna to play the UBCO Heat.
